I live in London with my two daughters, their dad , a small rescue dog named Annie and Yoshi the crested gecko (who looks like a tiny crocodile). 

 

I have been a storyteller for as long as I can remember. As a child I was always drawing and writing stories, often about magical lands and wild adventures for the quirky characters I created. I went on to become an actor of stories and more recently, a creative writer of educational resources for all ages.

 

I’m incredibly passionate about writing for young people, especially when it can help empower those who need it the most or bring about change. My experience and unwavering passion has certainly inspired me to take my writing on a new journey, but it is my lived experience as a mother of a child who was born with difference that has propelled me to write about young people who are different. Having observed the stares, comments and non-existent friendships, I see a need for bigger conversations about difference, kindness and acceptance.

 

So here I am, but ultimately it is my daughter’s journey, her kind and resilient sister and the amazing, courageous, brilliant, funny, talented young people I have been fortunate to meet along the way, who are my inspiration and I dedicate all of this to all of them.
